Kudos for Pre-season Trailwork
Tuesday January 2, 2024
Ditching, smoothing, brushing, mowing and clearing deadfall before snowfall and then packing/rolling the first snow isn't always the type of work that garners a lot of attention when we talk about skiing. But that type of work plus the extended period of gentle grooming with small machines are the reasons that we are able to ski in low-snow conditions. We were one of only a handful of cross country ski areas that were able to open in early December. Many thanks to Kevin Kriese for leading the pre and early season efforts and to the following hard workers: Francoi Depey, Dick Harrison, Sean Fraser, Geoff Recknell, James Cuell, Kelsey Stasiuk, Jan Wengelin and the many helpers at the fall work bee.
