Nordic Centre Opening

The Nordic Centre will be open starting Friday November 8.
Our grooming team has been working hard to have us skiing as soon as possible. Every little snowfall we had has been rolled to make a good base. And brush has been trimmed extra low. The last snowfall was wet so they waited a bit and were back grooming on Wednesday and Thursday. The result is pretty good considering how little snow we actually have. It is early season conditions so watch for sticks and possibly some dirt showing through. To find out which trails are open and when they were last groomed, check outthe Nordic Pulse link in the Conditions box on the home page.
In these low snow conditions, we need to groom during the daytime, so watch out for the grooming crew. And PLEASE, avoid skiing right after a trail has been groomed. It takes about an hour for the snow to set up and provide solid tracks and that lovely firm corduroy skate lane.
If the grooming is wrecked when there is so little base, it might not be fixable until the next snowfall.
Please wear your ski pass. If you registered but haven’t got your pass yet, pick it up at McBike and Sport.
Hours
- Buchfink Lodge and upper parking lot: 8:00 am to 9:45 pm
- Trail lights: on until 9:30 pm
- Lower parking lot is always available
Note that there is a regional snow camp this weekend. The lodge and stadium will be extra busy at times but open trails will be open for everyone.
