Wetzink’wa Loppet
On Saturday, Mar 21, 2026, the Club will host the 37th annual Loppet, with races for all ages & technique persuasions. It's not just about who gets to the finish line first, the loppet is a celebration of our wonderful club and trails. More information can be found in the RACE NOTICE.
Register at zone4.
Not keen on racing? Dozens of volunteers are necessary to make the day a success. One lucky volunteer will win a season ski pass for the 2026/2027 season. Sign up to help here.
As in past years, there are options for all ages, skills, and fitness levels. Distances range from 1 km, 4 km, 9 km, 20 km, 40 km, and 60 km. Course maps can be viewed here. Depending on snow conditions, the race committee may modify the routes with short notice but will post updated routes to the website should this be necessary. For each distance, a skier could choose classic or free technique. Can't decide which technique? There is even a 40 km skiathlon option where participants race 20 km in the classic technique followed by free technique for their second 20 km lap.
On Saturday March 21, the dog trails will be closed to dogs from 9:00 to 14:00. All people skiing with dogs are asked to have their dogs off the trails by 9:00 to ensure a safe, fair, loppet for all of our participants. The race committee understands this may be an inconvenience. Should you have any concerns, you are encouraged to reach out to race@bvnordic.ca.
