A little snow makes a big difference

Monday March 23, 2020

If you decide to ski the trails, keep your distance from each other. It is easy to do and an essential our community's health. Be aware that the lodge and indoor washrooms are closed due to COVID-19 concerns. Trails remain open. Our plan is to groom as needed to provide best skiing possible for as long there is snow and people are still skiing.

The PistenBulley will be out grooming tonight or very early Tuesday when the snow is cold. Monday's warm wet snow was not a lot but will hopefully be enough to work into some nice classic and skate tracks.  In the previous melt-freeze cycles and in the absence of new snow, using the PistenBully might have transformed the snow into concrete. So for the last week or so, the groomers would mostly just touch up the skate track with the Ginzu.  The new snow allows the PistenBully to be unleashed again. We are hoping the skiing will be really good Tuesday and will hopefully last for awhile, but conditions can deteriorate depending on spring temperatures and precipitation.
